Your First Visit
If it has been a while since your last dental appointment, we want to honor that you have taken a great first step toward improving your oral health and smile.
Here are a few tips to get you started.
Bring Necessary Documents
If you have dental coverage, take medications, or require premedication, be sure to bring all of the documents from your benefits plan and your physician to get the most out of your first dental visit with us.
Since we use digital x-rays, we will take our own set, but if you would like to have a previous x-ray record forwarded to our office, let us know. Chances are that you will need to fill out a release form at your previous dental office.
Keep Track of Questions
You've probably had the experience of thinking of questions you would like to ask your provider, but somehow when you get to the office, they have left your mind. Keep a running list in your smartphone or pocketbook so Dr. Taub can answer those for you.
If you are interested in cosmetic dentistry, make a list of what you might like to improve. Dr. Taub will organize a personal treatment plan to help you get the smile you have always wanted.
Comprehensive Dental Exam
Unlike many corporate dental practices, you will receive much more than a quick exam at Beachwood Smiles. Dr. Taub is gentle, so you have nothing to worry about.
- Exam of teeth and dentistry
- Periodontal evaluation
- Oral cancer screening
- Teeth grinding evaluation
- Cosmetic consultation (if needed)
- Hygiene instruction
- Recare recommendations
- Diagnostic x-rays and photographs
If you are fearful of the dentist or have dental-related anxiety, let us know at your first visit. We have sedation dentistry options available to make your appointments more comfortable.
Your Personal Reservation
Your dental appointment is time reserved just for you, and we never double book. If you need to change an appointment, we ask for at least 48 hours notice. We respect your time by striving to stay on time. While emergencies sometimes come up, we strive to minimize the waiting times people commonly associate with dental appointments.
